About
I’m Eleni Chandrinou, a film consultant, freelance producer, and audiovisual policy expert based in Brussels. I work at the intersection of creative filmmaking and the European institutional frameworks that support independent cinema.
For over twenty years, my work has focused on bridging these two worlds. I’ve spent years inside public funding systems, and I have worked closely with filmmakers and producers developing, financing, and producing films. This dual perspective—understanding how funding decisions are made and what it actually takes to get a film produced—is at the core of my practice.
As a producer, I’ve worked on independent documentaries that have premiered at major international festivals including IDFA, Thessaloniki, and Sarajevo, and have been distributed theatrically across Europe.
As a consultant, I work with filmmakers and producers across all stages of development, from early script and story work through financing strategies, co-production structures, and funding applications. I also tutor directors, supporting them from development through to the edit.
I’ve collaborated with production companies including Horsefly, Marni, and Neda Films in Greece; Michigan and 10.80 Films in Belgium; Berlin Producers in Germany; and SPi in Portugal, among others.
Alongside my creative work, I have contributed to audiovisual research and policy at a European level. I produced a report on the children’s film industry in the Balkans and have contributed to multiple European Audiovisual Observatory reports as the expert for Greece.
From 2020 to 2022, I served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Greek Film Centre. From October 2022 to December 2025, I represented Greece at Eurimages, the Council of Europe’s film fund, where I also chaired the Promotion Working Group. During the same period, I participated as an expert in the Council of Europe working group developing a legal instrument for series co-production.
I currently work with filmmakers, producers, and institutions navigating the evolving European audiovisual landscape, supporting projects and policies that strengthen independent production across Europe.
